Night Humors

This is one of my poems which show the changing attitudes of a person in childhood, adulthood and old age.

Night Humors

There was a time I with aching heart watched,
The sun hides behind the curtain,
The cows and crows homeward bound
The darkness swallows the earth
Confusion and fear filled my heart,
With passion great, I cried………..
“oh! Why is it so? Why is it so?”

This is the time I with bubbling youth watch
Moon and stars through gloom smile
Happy glow worms here and there glide,
All woes temporarily removed
Vague happiness fills my heart
With passion great, I screech……………
“Wow! It’s great to be so; it’s great to be so”.

There will be a time I with open eyes watch,
Murder and violence behind night protected,
Mask of preachers readily removed
Meaninglessness of life will painfully be felt
Understandable numbness will fill my heart
With passion great I‘ll muse ………………
“Yeah! Life is to be so, life is to be so”
